Matcha Yogurt

Just a quick post to share with you a way I use matcha. If you’ve seen matcha in your food news then you know it’s packed full of antioxidants. Matcha is a finely ground green tea powder, so if you’re familiar with the benefits of green tea, you know this stuff is good for you. If you’d like to read up on the benefits of green tea, here’s a good study from just a few years ago.

Above is the way I’m recently enjoying matcha, which is mixing it in with my homemade yogurt.  You can adjust the amount to suit your tastes and, if you’ve never had matcha, don’t be surprised that it definitely tastes like tea.

I mix:

  • 1/2 pint plain or vanilla yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon matcha

Blend well with a fork or small whisk, until all of the powder has completely dissolved. Enjoy as is or with your favorite nuts, granola or fruit on top.

Easy, right?

Matcha is easy to blend into smoothies, too and, if you want to make homemade ice cream with it, that’s another great way to enjoy it.

Matcha, like any other tea, does contain some caffeine, so be warned if you’re particularly sensitive to caffeine.

These are just a few ways to use matcha that will help make eating healthy and fun! Enjoy!
